Xifengsi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
North-central Zhejiang. The Xifengsi Fm was named by Sheng Xinfu (S. F. Sheng) in 1951. The naming section is located in Changshan County and Shaojiashan of Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province.
Synonym: (西峰寺组) , Xifengxi (spelling variant)
Lithology and Thickness
The Xifengsi Fm is subdivided into three parts. In the bottom of the Lower member consists of manganiferous dolomite or dolomitic limestone, upwards, there are mainly gray green, purple-red siltstone, black carbonaceous siliceous shale and black shale. Middle and Upper members are mainly gray, black gray dolomite. The upper member changes a lot. In Changhua Anji area on the north, the upper member consists of siliceous rocks, and going southward to Kaihua-Linan area, it changes to argillaceous dolomite with chert or siliceous mudstone.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Overlies the Leigongwu Fm on schematic stratigraphic column.
Upper contact
Overlain by Cambrian-age Hetang Fm on schematic stratigraphic column.
Regional extent
North-central Zhejiang.

Fossils
Microplants are Monotremaatosphaeridium asperum, Trachysphaeri- dium sp., Leiopsophosphaera sp., Leiofusa sp., Archaeohystrichosphaeridium sp., Granomarginata sp., Cymatiosphaera sp.; In Jiangshan-Shaoxing area, some stromatolites occur in dolomite, such as: Boxonia f., Jacutophyton f., Kussiella f., Jurusania f., Baicalia f., Conophyton f., Collenia f., Cryptozoon f.
